What was the inspiration for the look and feel of your wedding?
We wanted to keep things simple and classy, but not too "plain."

What was your color palette?
Navy, plum, gold, and lots of pearl accents. Our birthdays are a day apart, and our birthstone is a pearl. My dress had pearl accents, and we incorporated pearls into a lot of the décor for this reason.

What was the significance of your wedding location?
La Crosse is in the middle of both our hometowns and where we first met! The Waterfront is one of our favorite date night locations as well; therefore, it was fitting.

What was your favorite moment in your ceremony and reception?
Everything! We loved having all of our family and friends in one location to celebrate such a special day with us. We also decided to “ban” clinking glasses to have the bride and groom kiss and instead requested donations to go toward “A Cure for Addison”—our niece with spinal muscular atrophy. Someone even put Packers tickets up for bidding, and the proceeds went to her. We raised over $1,500 in 20 short minutes! It was one of the most amazing things ever.

Would you change anything if you could do it over again? If so, what?
Nope! I always dreamed of having a warm, outdoor summer wedding, but I’m so glad we stuck with November. We had a break from the busy summer wedding season, and the scenery was gorgeous. Our venue had also put up white Christmas lights that week, and they looked gorgeous at night.

What advice do you have for other couples planning their weddings?
Don’t stress over the small stuff! I had to remind myself that no one cares (or notices) the small things such as name cards, seating arrangements, fonts, etc. Enjoy the planning; it is such a special time!
