For many reasons, June 3 is a special day for Mitchel and me: He asked me “officially” to be his girlfriend; he got down on one knee on Grandad Bluff to propose; and we said “I do.”
Our wedding day was such an exciting, emotional, and beautiful day! My bridesmaids, mother, and mother-in-law started the day at Metropolitan Salon and Day Spa. One of my best friends, Alex Mahairas, did my hair and make-up. When my mom said, “Wow, you look beautiful,” I knew I was ready for the day.
Mitchel and I kept to tradition; I wanted to wait to see him until I walked down the aisle. The moment before walking down the aisle was such a precious moment for me, and Emily (our photographer) caught a picture of it that I will cherish forever. I am looking up at my father with a smile, while seeing him holding back tears.
Our ceremony, which we wrote entirely, was very special to us. The best part of our day was our personal vows. Hearing those special words confirmed the love we have for each other. My two brothers, who never performed a ceremony before, stood in front of family and friends and led the service at Myrick Park Center. This meant so much to us!
The reception could have started out in a better way! Mitchel and I were waiting to be announced as “Mr. and Mrs. Larson,” but we couldn’t find our DJ anywhere. Long story short, my cousins, brothers, and sister took action and tried to make the best out of the situation. Our amazing photographer found us Outback Entertainment as a replacement on short notice. The dance floor was packed all night long. It was everything Mitchel and I could have dreamed of and more!
