What was the inspiration for the look and feel of your wedding?
Vintage décor with a modern, romantic vibe: flowing fabric and floral, vintage mirrors, tall candlesticks, antique frames, votive candles, succulents, and lots of greenery.

What was your color palette?
Romantic and elegant: plum, wisteria, lavender, and gray with touches of blushes, pinks, creams, and white.

What was the significance of your wedding location?
We envisioned an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour with an intimate indoor reception. We loved the fact that we could have everything at Celebrations on the River and that our ceremony could flow seamlessly into our cocktail hour and reception.

What was your favorite moment in your ceremony and reception?
During the ceremony, it was when Chris and his mom, Susan, sang a duet of “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. As for the reception, the entire evening was amazing. The dueling piano band Deuces Wild made the night. Their performance had everyone on the floor dancing and laughing all night long! A fireworks show along the river by the La Crosse Skyrockers was a magical way to end the night. We also donated all funds raised during our dollar dance to the Trane Park Project. Thanks to our family and guests, we were able to make a $500 donation to this amazing project.

Would you change anything if you could do it over again? If so, what?
We would not change a single thing. We could not have asked for a more perfect day.

What advice do you have for other couples planning their weddings?
Don’t take the time you spend preparing and planning the wedding for granted. The big day will be there and gone before you know it. We also could not have planned this big day without the help of our amazing wedding planner, Nancy Flottmeyer. The one thing we wanted was for our day to flow seamlessly, and she made it happen!
